Reaching Rock Bottom

It took several attempts but today I finally found some blue skies over the Assabet River on my way to Rock Bottom (aka Gleasondale).  Monday's attempt to make the trip was cut short due to rain and an alert for possibly serious thunderstorms.  The weather pattern of late has been just a bit repetitive with the threat of T-storms every day...sort of like Bill Murray's predicament in the movie "Groundhog Day".
The end result was that between Monday and today I patrolled the Assabet River from Forest Ave in Hudson to the dam at Rock Bottom where I found things looking good despite the rocks...

My trash hauls of late:
Some trashpedalling in Stow and Acton this past Sunday produced this haul...

Monday's storm-shortened Assabet River patrol between Cox St. and Forest Ave produced this...

Today's patrol of the Assabet, Cox St. to the dam at Rock Bottom, produced this...
Combining all three hauls results in 56 recyclable containers (8 redeemable) and 55 pieces of miscellaneous rubbish.  YTD = 3277

Speaking of Rock Bottom, today I saw a person who apparently found herself in that state of mind.  While driving home from a work location north of Boston I approached an overpass above Route 93 and saw a woman climbing down from a chain-link fence running along the bridge and over the busy highway.  Several people were there and had successfully talked her out of what she may have planned to do.  Within moments numerous public safety vehicles were on the scene, and hopefully the woman is now receiving the care she needs.  Nonetheless, I found it hard to get the incident out of my thoughts while out on the river.
