A colorful array of canoes and kayaks prepared to launch onto the Merrimack River from Greeley Park in Nashua, NH this morning. Paddlers were participating in the September Trash Patrol of the New Hampshire Appalachian Mountain Club Paddlers. The group partnered with both the Souhegan River Watershed and Merrimack River Watershed Council for today's patrol. NHAMC Paddlers trash patrols are held on the first Saturday of each month between May and October and are organized by Denise Hurt.
A few hours later participants gathered around the approximately 650 pieces of trash removed from the river...
A good way to kick-off the holiday weekend.
