Some Nashua Sloughs

Another day of cool temps and a pesky breeze had me checking out the sloughs on the Nashua River below Petapawag near the Groton/Pepperell line.  There are three good-sized sloughs in less than two miles of river, and each provided a different experience.

This white-tailed deer was enjoying some time at water's edge...

Mute swans in training...

Saw a red-winged blackbird seemingly attacking another critter but soon realized it was actually feeding a fledgling who was out of the nest.  Here's a recent addition to the harbingers of spring tribe...
...(angry bird wannabe?)

Heading back up the river's main stem brought me by this crowd...

My boat's brakes stayed cool today as trash was scarce...
