November Stabilized

Yesterday saw November trying to regain her balance after a week-long fling with being a summertime month.  Skies were back to being busy with clouds and wind.  Temperatures were heading down rather than up and the ground leading to the Sudbury River at the Lincoln Canoe Launch was ankle deep in fallen leaves (photo at left).
No sooner had I got out on the river than two surf-skis glided by...
As I began to cross Fairhaven Bay in their wake another pair of skis came along...

At Martha's Point I turned about and headed upriver to Weir Hill where the view from hillside showed November back on track...

The fishermen encountered out on the river reported having good results, with several bass having been caught.

Once back at the takeout and loading my boat I met two more fishermen preparing to head out.  One realized he'd forgotten his life-jacket and rightly didn't want to risk being out on the river without one.  This resulted in his borrowing mine for the afternoon and, though a little unusual, was the right thing to do.  Upon its being safely returned, these fishermen also reported good fishing.

Trash was in very short supply...
