Fairhaven Bay True to its Name

Fairhaven Bay was a most tranquil place early this morning.  Though the sun was rising fast in the sky, the wind had yet to awaken from some well deserved rest.
Leaving the bay and heading upriver on the Sudbury, I found Lee's Bridge also unusually calm...

Saw my first Eastern Kingbird of the season this morning.  He joined the multitudes of red-winged blackbirds, numerous wood ducks, blue herons, tree swallows, and Canada geese that were enjoying a day on the river.

Trash was very light...

Such calm conditions allowed for these guys to ride topside for the passage under the bridge.  Back at the Lincoln Canoe Launch they were joined by few more cans found in the parking area there.

Post paddle, Mrs. Trashpaddler and I rounded up these terrestrial miscreants along the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail...

The total for the day was 14 recyclable containers (6 redeemable) and 8 pieces of miscellaneous rubbish such as plastic bags, styrofoam, etc.  YTD = 2250
