Sudbury River - Tale of Two Trash Patrols

Things are starting to look a little more wintry around here.  At least in shallow, low flow areas such as the oxbow near Little Farms Road, from where I had launched my boat.   The parking area, there, had a considerable amount of trash, and a quick trash patrol resulted in 65 pieces collected before my boat and I approached the water. Once launched, I passed on the iced over oxbow and turned downriver where I found open water and some traveling companions...

We soon began seeing spots such as this where a variety of flotsam tried to look incognito...
I patrolled down to the Allen Morgan Avian Study Area where I turned around.  Once back at Little Farms, I placed both of this day's trash hauls side by side with my paddle dividing them...
Trash to the left of the paddle shaft is from the pre-paddle terrestrial patrol of the parking area at Little Farms.  The trash to the right was recovered from the river.  Combined total was 147 pieces:
61 recyclable containers (17 redeemable) and 86 pieces of miscellaneous rubbish such as styrofoam, plastic bags, spray cans, etc.  YTD total = 147
