Year's Waning Days

It'd been almost a year since I'd last paddled the Assabet River downstream from Cox Street in Hudson.  In fact it was my very last paddle of December 2014, and the last time I counted and classified pieces of trash.  So I guess it made sense to make it my first paddle of December 2015.

The day had started out with plenty of sunshine but clouded over after noon.  The gusty winds of yesterday had settled down to a stiff breeze from the west.

Trash is always plentiful in this particular stretch and today was no different.  My storage compartments were nearly full when I encountered this cluttered spot...

The spot looked better when finished, but my boat was at capacity...

Could have recovered more, but with a full boat I enjoyed the scenery before heading back to the put-in...

The day's haul, a mostly plastic and Styrofoam crowd, found in just a 1.5 mile stretch of river...
