NHAMC June Trash Patrol

With yesterday being the first Saturday of the month it meant  Denise Hurt and the New Hampshire Appalachian Mountain Club Paddlers would be doing another of their monthly Trash Patrols.  Mrs. Trashpaddler and I decided to head north and join them for the patrol targeting the Nashua River behind the Mills in downtown Nashua.

A variety of boats and their respective captains were equipped with plastic crates and trash-grabbers before fanning out on the river.

This was the result several hours later...

Denise recorded 150 pieces of miscellaneous rubbish, 74 recyclable containers, 2 auto tires, 2 shopping carts, an office chair, a well screen, and a motorcycle fender.

Just around the bend in the river stood one of the remaining buildings of the former Nashua Manufacturing Company...
...and the weathervane with three crossed arrows atop its tower...
