Cape Ann Fore and Aft

I'd been looking forward to this day for awhile.  First, my work required me to venture into the sea for the collection of ocean water on one side of Cape Ann.  Then later, after work, and on the cape's other side, my boat and I emerged from the Jones River and took a heading towards Annisquam Village (photo at left).  High tide was still an hour away and Goose Cove hadn't finished filling...

Heading over to Annisquam I came upon this woodchuck enjoying some time by the water...
After a visit to the always tranquil Lobster Cove...

...I took in a glimpse of little Annisquam Light...

En route back to the Jones River I beached my boat on a section of Wingaersheek Beach frequented by boaters on summer days and weekends.  I made the mistake of looking into the grass that runs parallel to the water and saw this...

By the time I'd walked 75 feet along the grass my dry bag was full of cans and bottles that had been hidden there.  There were also 18 Hooksett disks found in the wrack...
...bringing my disk collection total to 1397.

Today's haul consisted of 36 recyclable containers (28 redeemable) and 28 pieces of rubbish (18 of those being the pesky disks).  YTD = 4318

Hi Al,
next week I will be visiting Rockport for a much-needed vacation by the sea !
Let me know if you are still going to be in the area. Not bringing a boat, however, but I hope to take another sail on the Ardelle or Fame

Hi Sue, Hope you have a great time in Rockport and sailing on the waters of Cape Ann.
Thacher Island sure looked good from where I was snorkeling today!
